PARENTS OF HIGH SCHOOL JUNIORS

What do you do now that college campuses are closed, orientation sessions and tours are cancelled, and life in general has been disrupted in multiple ways? Here are some suggestions to keep your junior on track for the upcoming college admissions process:

· Research colleges online. This is a great time to conduct in-depth research to understand each institution’s mission and philosophy, as well as reviewing academic requirements, majors, minors and costs.

· Take virtual tours. Many colleges provide interactive virtual tours and campus visits that can give good insight into classrooms, residence halls and more.

· Utilize the Net Price Calculator (NPC) from each college to determine the approximate Cost of Attendance (COA). Then have a transparent conversation with your student about the current financial environment and what that could mean when choosing a school that meets the family’s projected situation.

There are many things that can be done now to prepare for the fall admissions season. Now is a great time to start!
